中西文化差異對(duì)翻譯的影響

Literature review

The difference between eastern and western countries has been regarded as one of the most important topics of linguistic researches and such differences have been influencing the various aspects of people’s life. Translation is one of the activities that had been under the deep influence of cultural difference between eastern and western countries. Translation involves both the target language and the source language, so the translator in addition to master the language, but also to understand the culture of the two countries. Therefore, more and more researches focus on the differences between Chinese and western culture.

Through history, geography, custom and religion four aspects, it expresses the content of cultural differences is very rich and complicated. In addition to the knowledge of the language, must have a profound cultural background, and understand the difference between the two cultures, so that the translator can translate well. Translator usually use the literal translation and liberal translation. In the article mentioned that the professor Wang zuoliang said: “The translator must be a real sense of the people. Only in this way, can not only achieve the language in the sense of equivalence, and achieve real cultural sense of equivalence.” Therefore, we must have the solid cultural background, then we can make good work.
