Abstract

21st century is a century of opportunities and challenge, English plays an important role in international communication as an international language. To improve college students’ oral English and find the new methods to teach are urgent tasks right now.

English influence our lives widely. How to improve college students’ oral English to be fluent and native becomes a big problem. To improve this situation, English teachers should give all their efforts to their initiative, striving to improve their English level of dialogue. What is more, the students’ oral English ability should be the primary task of teaching. At the same time, students must cooperate with the teachers actively, using their brains and mouths more to gain fluent English.

In sum, all the above studies have put forward valuable ideas about the college students’ oral English. However, there seems to be a lack of in-depth and detailed analysis and comparison in English learning, which will surely improve the oral English of the college students. This article discusses the strategies about teaching Chinese college students to learn oral English by English films, and suggests a practical way that actually widens students’ communicative abilities.
